PHOTO: Call Girl Ashley Dupré Making News Again

Usually, fashion designers love to get as much media attention as possible. But, in the case of designer Yigal Azrouel, he was not happy with the extra publicity he received at a recent New York fashion show. Why? Because Ashley Dupré, the call girl who took down New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, was sitting on the front row at his show. Why? Because both Dupré and Azrouel share the same publicist, or at least they did. Here's the story from the Toronto Star:

Ashley Dupré is the new Monica Lewinsky.

New York's latest 'It' girl is not a stick figure socialite or one of the countless, faceless starlets on teen dramas who have been occupying the front row during fashion week.

Ashley Dupré – remember her? – the former escort, whose dalliance with the very-much-married Eliot Spitzer, pretty much put the kibosh on his career as governor caused a fracas here at New York Fashion Week.

She crashed designer Yigal Azrouel's fashion show last Friday and sat in the front row, causing the designer to come apart at the seams in the media.

He denied inviting her and promptly fired his publicist for allowing such a thing to happen.

That was just the spark that pile of dry wood needed because nothing beats a woman scorned who has a good publicist. (Dupré and the designer employed the same publicist.)

The 23-year-old Dupré is now firmly in the spotlight after that incident and has since hit other shows – to which she was invited – and has announced her plans for a music career.

According to her interview in WWD, the fashion trade daily, Dupré has musical heavyweight Peter Zizzo behind her. The producer has worked with such Canadian songbirds as Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion, no less.

Dupré has an album due out next year, so we'll likely see more of her. She's working on an autobiography and her passion for fashion has one edgy fashion magazine interested in featuring her on its cover.

If she pulls this all off, it will be the best trick she's turned.
